What is Climate Optimism?

What does it mean to be a climate optimist?

Climate optimism is growing in popularity as the need for hope takes center stage around the world, but what does it actually mean to be a climate optimist?

Climate optimism is a mindset shift that sparks optimism, creativity, and solutions thinking while keeping a fact-based and awareness-driven approach to climate change.

Don’t mistake climate optimism for toxic positivity or wishful thinking: Optimism is a practice and as with everything, it takes commitment to stay the course!

Here inside The Climate Optimist Universe, you will learn how to empower yourself as a citizen and how small shifts in habits and mindset will invite positive change into all areas of your life.

To be a Climate Optimist means asking: “Now that we know this, what can we do?”

Awareness + Action = Optimism

Grounded and sustainable climate optimism can only exist at the intersection of grounded awareness and empowered action.

Awareness will trigger your will to act, but only continuous action will allow your optimism to sustain. Here, we call it being an Optimist In Action.

Therefore, climate optimism is not about taking a step back and hoping for the best to happen. It’s about diving into awareness and choosing a path of resilience, action, and hope.

Our mission is to shift the narrative on climate change so that we can act from courage and excitement, not fear.

A new world is possible if we believe it and choose to act.
